On December 18 at 3 p.m. only on Zoom, in partnership with Jewish Russian Cultural Alliance of the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples, we are bringing to you a very unique presentation by Norm Winski. His uncle, Abe Silverstein, started with NACA, that is the predecessor of NASA, in Cleveland and became the Director of Space Flight Programs on October 1, 1958

, when NASA opened its doors. He was responsible, over time, for Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs. His work was the focus of President Kennedy's, VP Johnson's and James Webb's attention as he was retained and became quite seriously involved in the race to space between USA and Russia, and after retiring took it upon himself to organize American Jewry to help free the Soviet Jewry.

Abe's connection to SWFL? He had a winter home in Cape Coral.
